AUGUST 2011: After a busy summer with e.g. a fantastic birding odessy around Kyrgyzstan with an friendly and active German group (our best total ever for a Kyrgyzstan birding tour...), and busy upcoming autumn for Miksture. it's a pleasure to announce progress all over the line - that Mikstures products please more and more happy clients. It also means that we are busy with more private groups in the coming year; hence we might be less flexible to carry out more custom-maked itineraries. However we stick to the announced tours and e.g. the November Snow Leopard tour to the remote Kyrgyz-Chinese border is guaranteed. There are still seats on most of announced tours, but pls don’t wait too long before booking remaining seats.

NEWS from the Region: Tigers on the mammals list on future KAKI-tours??? According serious rumours WWF, the Russian and Kazakh Government are planning to re-introduce Tigers in SE-Kazakhstan from the Amur-popuation. 400.000 ha South of Lake Balkash/Ili River; so maybe we within few years can watch Siberian Tigers and Sykes's Warbler side-by-side... If so - I guarantee we make the ultimate Miksture Wildlife Expedition where we combine watching Tiger AND Snow Leopard. We "tick" the Tiger on our way from Turenga Forest to karaoi, and the SL we get in our Kyrgyz Mountains...

SNOWLEOPARD: Our succes on our Snow Leopard expeditions continue. All participants were very happy for the tour and result! Again we made high-altitude camp for one week: One male SL heard, Wolf heard and one Lynx seen. In 2012 we again make high-altitude camp, but this time at two locations in order to maximise the result - At present (22.Feb 2011)there are estimated 5-6 Snow Leopards in the area!!!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR 2012
Of course the death of Nicolai, our friend and SL guide were a big loss for all of us in 2011, but we already have accomplished and made more expeditions - in his spirit and with our usual succes! We continue our SL tours in 2012. Later in the summer, our good partner died in Siberia delaying our departures one more year. However, we still for sure get our Southern Siberian Birding tours back on the track, we just need to solve some small logistic rearranging. But luckily 2011 offered many highlights and good hours with friends... And in Kyrgyzstan a new president were elected, and there is so good vibes and all-year springtime in Kyrgyzstan. Even talks about cancelling visas for tourists in 2012. THAT would be the coolest, welcoming, and most CLEVER decision made by any CA country!
2011 have been a busy year in Miksture. We have made several departures all around Central Asia - Kyrgyzstan, kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and last but not least... Turkmenistan!
The latter will be followed by the first birding tour to TM in May 2012: An Swedish-Danish grp will visit some of the most cool and exceiting places in the Kopet Dag Mountains and the desert. Lots of interesting birds awaits. There might still be seats available - pls contact us.
